2017.07.04 (Tue)

The first micro-satellite “ALEe” developed by ALE Co., Ltd. (CEO: Lena Okajima, Office: Tokyo) has been selected by JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, HQ: Tokyo Chofu, President: Naoki Okumura) as a candidate project for JAXA’s “Innovative Satellite Technology Demonstration Program”. ALE will proceed with safety reviews, technical adjustments and contractual procedures in preparation for the launch.

ALE is a Tokyo-based startup that creates artificial shooting stars on demand. It has been developing its micro-satellite with Tohoku University and other academic institutions. ALE believes that this partnership with JAXA will provide ALE with a very valuable opportunity to test its shooting star technology.

Participation in this program is dependent on ALEe passing JAXA’s safety reviews and obtaining permissions in accordance with the Space Activity Law.
